They say ‘adapt or die,’ and you really chose ‘adapt or destroy the plumbing.’ Respect.

    2. This is what’s called adapting. Changing your body to drink a cup of milk and cookies before bed.

    3. Biologically lactose intolerance is caused by the body not producing enough lactase; however, by consuming enough lactose for a long period of time, your gut bacteria will adapt to digest it better

It is basically mirco dosing poison till you develop minor lactose tolerance again. Thanks gut microbiota!

The trial by fire method is bold. Your digestive system probably deserves a public apology and a vacation.

    5. Every day at work for breakfast I drink a cup of coffee and strawberry milk. Now if I don’t drink it I’m constipated lol

Oh damn is that what happened to me? I became lactose intolerant for a while randomly but a couple years later I became tolerant again.

Not the same but that is how I got rid of my pickiness and also how I uped my spice tolerance (which was already quite decent)

    8. I’ve been doing this for years and it never worked

      That doesn’t seem fair😭

The moment you realized you’re actually in control of everything

    10. Lactose intolerance is heavily dramaticized, most lactose intolerant people can still drink and eat lactose without symptoms but not too much of it and even when the symptoms start showing most of the time it’s a mild stomach ache. The super bad cases of lactose intolerance where one cup of milk can cause diarrhea are rare.

Honestly, there are few people I’ve met who like dairy more than lactose intolerant people

    12. This reminds me of a titan from Attack on Titans, the demon king at the top of the tower in Solo Leveling and Endevor from MHA

Been adding milk to my coffee for like a year and the diarrhea never ends. Maybe Im not built differently enough to adapt 😔

    14. I developed spontaneous lactose intolerance at 21 when I was at an out-of-state internship in a small town area. Took me a couple years and lots of milkshakes to rebuild it.

Your digestive system after year one: ‘He’s not going to stop… is he?

    16. I basically forced my body to tolerate wheat and eggs (I have allergy to both).

Pizza was just too good to ignore.

    17. This is what i keep telling people. If you have a chronic illness, or a disease or whatever. Just dont do that. And there you go, your cured

I am partially successful in my adaptation. Most of the time no problem but sometimes my adaptation fails spectacularly.

I had the opposite, I thought I was lactose tolerant and was eating so much dairy I ended up in the ER thinking something was horribly wrong. Nope! My body just couldn’t take all the dairy anymore :”)
